Regional Spelling Bee

  • SB
As our Bee season begins, there is a big change you need to know about. All nine Minnesota Service Cooperatives have collaborated as one regional partner. This allows Minnesota to send NINE Regional Bee Champions to the Scripps National Spelling Bee compared to the five in previous years. We are excited to give more students in Minnesota the opportunity to represent our state and compete with other kids around the United States.

Let's help students build confidence, improve academic achievements, expand their vocabulary and work towards goals by encouraging them to participate in the Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee helps promote literacy, improves comprehension and can develop study skills. Register your school today and give students the challenge of spelling words.

The Spelling Bee is a series of spelling contests starting with your classroom, school building, then district level. The winner from the district will advance to the Regional Bee in Redwood Falls. One regional winner will then advance to the National Spelling Bee. It is an all-expenses paid trip for the winners (including one adult) to compete in the 2023-24 Scripps National Spelling Bee in National Harbor, Maryland.

A special "Thank you" to those who help make the Spelling Bee happen; the Southwest West Central Service Cooperative (SWWC SC), Minnesota Service Cooperatives, Lathrop GPM, Medica, Wex, Merriam-Webster, Encyclopedia Britannica.
