Minnesota has adopted the SHAPE America 2014 Standards and Grade-Level Outcomes as the state required standards. During the 2016-17 school year, the Minnesota Department of Education initiated the standards review process through the standards review committee process and adapted them to meet state interests (yet maintain their original purpose and integrity) through the state review process.

The final document is now undergoing the Rule-Making process through the 2017-18 school year.  This session will identify key changes in the proposed standards and grade-level benchmarks from current state standards, introduce the new state physical education standards and grade-level outcomes, allow time for participant review, and identify the next steps for standard implementation.
