Cancelled - K-12 Science Teacher Workshop with MDE - Marshall

Description

From Phenonmena to Three Dimensional Science Learning
Engaging students in observing a real-life scenario or phenomenon provides an opportunity to have the students lead the investigation around key scientific concepts.  In this session we will experience a phenomenon, explore the science concepts that explain it, and discuss how engaging phenomena create access points for all students.  We will consider the progression of ideas from primary grades through high school.

3D STEM: Engaging Students in Content, Practices, and Integration K-12
STEM is more than just a tagline for schools; it is a manner of approaching learning.  During this session we will move beyond the silos of S.T.E.M and explore pedagogy to engage students in mathematical, scientific, and engineering content, 21st century skills and practices, and intentional integration that is authentic for students.  Through an activity, we'll explore the applications from elementary to high school.
