Technology Leadership Workshop - Marshall

Description

This workshop is designed to be an engaging experience for School District Technology Directors, Coordinators, Integration Facilitators and Support Staff.

Schedule for the Day

09:00 – 09:30 Open Peer Networking, Registration and Refreshments

09:30-10:30 Digital Signage

Digital Signage has become a popular way to display announcements and other school information.  While the idea of digital signage is simple, there are many ways for it to be implemented.  We’ll be showing you some things we do, and we’d love to hear what others have put into use.

10:45-11:30 IFTTT

Do more with the services you love. Learn how to use IFTTT, aka If This Then That, to make your life a little easier. Learn how to use IFTTT with Evernote, Google Drive, Twitter, etc.

11:30-12:15 Lunch

12:15-1:15 EverFi

Through partnerships with the Vikings and Wild, EverFi provides educators with online learning tools in topics such as financial education, digital literacy, citizenship, STEM and social-emotional learning. Each course is standards-aligned and free of charge to schools. Over 200 schools in Minnesota have gone through an EverFi course. Everyone who attends our presentation will be given login credentials, standards-alignment documents, lesson plans and ongoing technical and curriculum support at no cost.

1:15-2:00 Windows Application Management

Installing, updating, and removing software for a large number of computers outside of your regular imaging schedule can sometimes be a daunting task.  As unpatched software remains on your systems, it can also be a security risk.  Come see some of the tools we use to manage systems with relative ease.
