    Topics: Literacy: Phonics and Fluency and Trainer Support: Engaging All Participants in Practice

    Local Certified Facilitator Communities of Practice (LCF CoP) provide support to facilitators who are trained in at least one of the state's approved professional development programs while offering a space to collaborate with other LCFs. This CoP fulfills the requirements of MN READ Act for LCFs. 

    What's a Local Certified Facilitator? MN READ Act states, a certified trained facilitator is someone who:
    • Works for a district or regional literacy network.
    • Has finished MDE-approved professional development in structured literacy.
    • Met all the vendor's requirements for certification and facilitator training.
    • Keeps up their certification each year.
    • Is in good standing with the agency and vendor.
    • Uses the vendor's training materials the way they're supposed to.
    • Takes part in mentoring or coaching from CAREI and MDE on leading literacy training.
