Bus Driver Training

This training is for bus drivers and paras who have never had a training before and can also be used as a refresher for those participants who have had a CPI training in the last year.

Managing students’ behavior is probably the toughest part of a school bus driver’s job.  This training outlines ways bus drivers and bus paras can use Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training techniques and strategies to:  Prevent many problem behaviors from occurring; Set limits with students who are not following bus rules; and be more confident when addressing challenging behavior.”

Bus driver and para participants: the training for bus drivers and paras will be the first 3.5 hours and they will NOT receive a blue card or be able to participate in any holds. 

Refresher participants: individuals that are attending this training as a refresher, you will need to stay an additional 30 minutes to review the holds.  You will then receive your blue card and are able to participate in any holds.
