Introduction to Responsive Classroom - Rescue Squad Center in Willmar, MN

Description

This workshop provides an introduction to the Responsive Classroom approach.  You'll gain an understanding of the foundational principles of the approach and hear how Responsive Classroom practices and strategies help teachers foster positive community, integrate engaging academics with the teaching of social and emotional skills, and create the conditions for positive student behavior.

An overview of several strategies will be shared, including Morning Meeting and Responsive Advisory Meeting, positive teacher language, and ways of responding to misbehavior.  In this active and interactive workshop, you will have the opportunity to discuss ideas with colleagues, experience Responsive Classroom strategies as an adult learner, and see video of Responsive Classroom teachers implementing the strategies with students in grades K-8.
