Directs fiscal and hiring operations of division;
Provides administrative leadership and management oversight of division;
Plans, develops, implements, and administers programs and services to meet identified needs, including development and implementation of new programs and services;
Provides leadership to members in the area of special education;
Collaborates with Minnesota Department of Education staff, Regional Low Incidence Facilitators, and others on local, regional and state initiatives;
Supervises staff development for division; and
Conducts meetings and participates in local, regional, and state meetings as necessary.
Provide direct supervision and management of staff at service area level;
Oversee special education and third party pay as requested by member districts;
Conduct meetings and participates in local, state, and regional special education meetings as necessary;
Interprets and complete, in a timely manner, special education applications and forms for each member school in the service area and develops and manages all special education budgets in the service area; and
Oversee staff development for service area personnel and district personnel.
Plan and carry out in-services to meet staff development needs and provides technological support for computerized IEP program;
Consult with school personnel and parents of children with disabilities regarding appropriate programming and/or follow-up services and assures appropriate reporting to parents;
Attend building/district-wide Child Study Committee Meetings as requested;
Attend information meetings and participates in Service Cooperative Coordinators’ meetings to share information on a regional level;
Work with Child Study Committees in developing, implementing, and evaluating proper child study procedures; and
Act as liaison between
local districts and various service agencies within the service area.
