Research proves that removing students from school for disciplinary is ineffective:

•Suspension is a temporary fix and not a long term solution

•Suspension is often not for the student but for the adult and the environment

•Suspension harms relationships and is associated with increased problem behavior and lower academic achievement

This two-part webinar will review the research, review the data from southern Minnesota school districts and look at alternative solutions that will benefit students and lead to increased instructional time and decreased problem behavior. A follow-up session will be provided to share strategies, review data and continue the conversation on how to keep our students engaged.
