Procurement in the 21st Century - 16 hours

The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE), School Nutrition Programs is excited to offer this training for school nutrition directors, managers and business managers during the Minnesota Education Academy (MEA) break.  This two day training will be presented by the Institute for Child Nutrition in partnership with the Educational Service Cooperatives in Thief River Falls, Sartell, Marshall and Roseville. Registration is limited to 30 participants at each location.

This training provides general concepts about the procurement of goods, products, and/or services for School Nutrition Programs. Participants will identify key factors for implementing a fair, open, and cost-effective procurement system that supports compliance with federal, state, and local policies. Major topic categories are:

  • Procurement Principles *Competitive Purchasing * Solicitation for Goods, Products, and Services
  • Contracts * Cooperative Purchasing Groups

Cancellations must be received by 4:30 p.m. on October 17, 2016 to qualify for a full refund after which all registrations are final and no refunds will be issued.  Substitution of attendees from the same district/organization will be allowed up to the day of the event.  In the event a workshop is cancelled by the Service Cooperative, a full refund will be given.  An email address that is accessed often must be included when registering to ensure receipt of any cancellation notifications.
