This workshop is designed to be an engaging experience for School District Technology Directors, Coordinators, Integration Facilitators and Support Staff.

9:30 – Exploring the 2014 Horizon Report. The Horizon Report is published annually by the New Media Consortium (NMC) and the Consortium for School Networking (CoSN) and outlines the trends of education technology in the coming years, an outlook of what’s on the “horizon” of education technology. During this workshop we will actively explore and discuss the report and put into perspective how we envision our schools adopting these emerging technologies.

12:00 – Lunch

12:30 – Vendor Presentation – Ben Erickson of Firefly Computers in St. Paul will conduct a live lab from setup to operation of N Computing’s L300 virtual desktop system. The L300 solution has been tested and found to be compatible with Pearson’s TestNav system.

1:30 – BrightBytes Clarity Updates – An overview of the Clarity process and what schools are seeing after their initial year of using the platform will be discussed. Clarity is a 21^st Century preparedness assessment for K-12 schools that is provided to all participants in SW/WC Service Cooperative Technology Contracted Schools or can be purchased from SW/WC in a stand-alone format.

2:00 – E-Rate Modernization and what it means to you! This will be a quick informational session regarding a number of the big changes that have been made in the E-Rate program.
