Technology Leadership Workshop

Description

Technology Leadership Workshops are an opportunity for school district technology department staff to collaborate with their peers from across the region. A mixture of professional development, product awareness and peer networking is worked into each of our workshops held throughout the school year. Leadership workshops are designed to appeal to the Leadership in every school's technology department, including Technology Directors, Coordinators, key support staff and Technology Integrationists.

Agenda for the day

9:45 - Microsoft’s EES Agreement and System Center. Microsoft representatives will detail the new EES agreement that allows schools to license tiers of Microsoft software based on employee headcounts. This new model of licensing has been found to be extremely effective for some schools and as a subscription service, ensures you will always have access and rights to the latest software titles from Microsoft. A review of Microsoft System Center will also be provided, including how the software can be used as a mobile device management solution.

10:45 – Update from Isaiah Wallfred of Tierney Brothers on new licensing model for SMART Notebook and other SMART Technologies Software titles.

11:00 - The next generation of Wireless, 802.11ac is on the market and getting closer to being a cost-effective option for schools to consider when implementing and upgrading their wireless infrastructure. But like all new advancements in wireless technology, 802.11ac presents a new set of benefits and challenges that need to be considered during your planning phase.

Track 2: Technology Integration Facilitators
