General Information

VISION: To create high quality experiential learning programs that help students discover their passion in life.

CORE PURPOSE: To help students discover their passion.

The Student Activities Department of the SW/WC Service Cooperative delivers a variety of conferences, competitions and programs intended for all students in the region, including regular ed, students with special needs, gifted and talented, home school, etc.
The student programs, conferences and competitions are sponsored and/or coordinated by the SW/WC Service Cooperative. Each activity has it's own webpage with specific details pertaining to that particular event. Information includes fees and timelines for all activities, also included are programs that we collaborate on, as well as other activities. Our policies concerning registration fees, refunds, cancellations, etc. are listed under Registration Information & Weather Related Announcements on the General Information page.

Our student conferences - Young Artists, Young Writers, and Science & Nature - provide a great opportunity for students to explore new ideas by venturing into unfamilar topics or to learn more about an area of interest. Participation in a conference may improve a student's self esteem and spark new interest. It could also inspire their future college or career choices.

Each district handles registrations for student conferences differently. Some districts pay registration fees, provide chaperones and transportation while others provide chaperones and transportation with parents paying the registration fee. Some schools access funds from PTA/PTO organizations or local civic groups. Neighboring districts have shared a bus to cut down on transportation expenses. We appreciate any assistance schools provide in passing information on to parents. Many parents register their child(ren) on their own.

Plan to participate in a new activity this year! If you would like to be added to the mailing list email your name, address, phone number and email to Andrea Anderson at andrea.anderson@swsc.org.
